by where we live
Located in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, the Canmore Climbing Gym is the Bow Valley’s only bouldering facility. We invite everyone from first time climbers to the seasoned competitor to come hang, move and play with us at in beautiful Aspen Park.
Community
Driven
We exist to serve this community, and to celebrate our shared love for climbing. With two different co-op locations closing in recent years, and Elevation Place often being at maximum capacity, we decided to create a climbing gym that would meet the growing needs of all our mountain loving enthusiasts.
Moving
forward
When an empty commercial space became available in September of 2020, Sonnie Trotter jumped on the opportunity to lease the bay and kick start the project. The offer was unexpectedly accepted, and he went to work giving it a name, a design, recruiting a team, and making this dream come to life.

Today, the Canmore Climbing Gym is comprised of five longtime climbers of the Bow Valley, including Sonnie Trotter, Nick Rochacewich, Bart Urbanski, Ben Firth and Cam Baty.

Our goal is to create a space that is easy to access, feels warm and welcoming by all, strives for cleanliness, and listens to community feedback. We plan to create a fun and exciting place to spend time, socialize and exercise. With new routes set weekly, new holds ordered regularly and new programs added annually we hope you will join us on our mission to serve.
