LET’S CLIMB TOGETHER!
Join this small group (max 6 participants) 2-hr clinic with renowned climber Sonnie Trotter as he shares his best tips for rock climbing with better footwork, more precision, and less effort.
Topics will cover visualization & planning, hip position, heel & toe hooks, knee drops, backsteps, high steps, smearing, corner friction, knee & arm bars, hand hooking, effective resting, and more.
Sonnie needs no introduction – but if you want one, here are some of the highlights:
When he graduated high school at the age of 17, Sonnie drove to Rifle, Colorado where he climbed his first 5.14. He quit competitions at the age of 23 as a national champion and devoted his time and money to travelling and new route development. At the age of 24 he began getting noticed by media and climbing brands alike, and began working closely with companies like 5.10 shoes, Patagonia Clothing and Sterling Ropes. In 2008, he became the first Canadian to climb 5.14c, and the third North American to make the first free ascent of a 5.14d. In 2006, Sonnie and climbing partner Matt Segal connected The Shadow (5.13b), The Grand Wall (5.13b), and The Black Dyke (5.13b), on the Stawamus Chief in Squamish, in a single 12-hour push. He contributed to hundreds of first free ascents around the world.
Everyone is welcome, no matter your climbing level, however this clinic is best suited to 5.10 & 5.11 climbers.
